Wind Up Here was established in 1993 by four friends: Joan, Chris, Paul & JP. Our first location in Downtown Olympia was less than 1,000 square feet and was packed with great wind up toys and games! Over the years Wind Up Here started adding more and more of the best specialty toys to help serve our community with Toys For Kids of All Ages! We now occupy over 4,000 square feet packed with an amazing selection of toys, games, puzzles, wind ups and so much more.
In March 2007 Wind Up Here was purchased by the mother-daughter team Gail Small and Brekke Hewitt. Gail and Brekke maintain the amazing quality and selection of toys and the interactive community-oriented environment that has made Wind Up Here the “Best Toy Store in South Sound” for over a decade running!
We focus on gathering a great selection of toys that promote creativity, interaction, cognitive thinking and positive play. Wind Up Here brings you toys from companies that are conscientious of the environmental and social health of both our community and the entire globe. In store we offer many activities for families to enjoy, such as our Cave Painting Hall, Game Nights, First Fridays and other free family events.
With this blog we will bring you an array of topics related to kids, toys and Thurston County as a means of bringing together those who are part of the Wind Up Here community.
